The Non-Traditional Legal Careers Report

Volume 8 Issue 17                                                             November 17, 2008

Well, the election is over and we can only hope for change that is positive when the Congress and new president take over in January. It has certainly been a wild last six months-gas prices, housing bubbles, stock market crashes, bailouts-and it is far from certain what the future holds. This means that probably, for most of us, a time to be sticking tight and not looking for anything new unless absolutely necessary.

Using my crystal ball and looking at the legal market over the coming year, I would anticipate continued fallout on the financial and corporate sectors. Probably some growth in litigation but the strong two areas over the next year are likely to be bankruptcy and energy. The bankruptcy prediction is a no brainer but energy is a different matter. I do believe that the new focus on renewables, alternatives and redesigning our energy infrastructure will legal to a number exciting opportunities for lawyers.

This edition is surprising large and geographically diverse. It is over 130 pages and has positions from 35 states. Positions are still our there if you are willing to look. We hope you enjoy this edition.
